Rochdale Branch Raise £475 for Bury Hospice
The Rochdale bra
nch held a charity coffee morning for Bury Hospice on Friday 7th May to raise money as they want to build a new hospice in Bury as the current one has only five beds.
Michelle Flynn, Branch Manager for Rochdale commented:
"We have looked after a lot of clients that have been in the hospice, or the community hospital next door, through Bury PCT, who are our biggest client, and we wanted to give something back. Helping support the hospice would also be a great marketing opportunity as the local paper, Bury Times, have agreed to publish a piece in the paper if we forward a photo."
The Rochdale branch had a homemade cake stall, tombola, raffle, name the teddy and guess the weight of the cake. The cake was decorated with the symbol of the hospice and was made by one of their carers - Barbara Bamford. The branch raised a whopping £475 including a £50.00 donation from their landlord!!
Michelle also said:
"I recruited my family to help on the day including my 86 year old grandma (The one on the picture) who ran the stalls. We had clients and workers who supported us on the day."
